
Cole Setzer was born and raised in Hickory, North Carolina, where he grew up working in his family’s construction business. From an early age, he learned the values of hard work, community, and the unique challenges small business owners face.
After graduating, Cole went on to serve over 10 years on active duty in the U.S. Army, where he developed leadership skills, financial discipline, and a deep commitment to service. During his time in the military, he met his wife, Dr. Molly Setzer, an OB/GYN. Together, they are raising three young children, while Cole continues to serve in the Army Reserves.
Following his military career, Cole became a CPA and worked as a tax accountant, helping families and business owners navigate complex financial decisions. Today, he combines his professional expertise with his dedication to public service as a County Commissioner for Catawba County.
